Baby Hair Bows a Bloomin'

My friend made me lots of hair bows for my little project.  I saw a pin that, of course, I cannot find to give credit for my inspiration.  Maybe it's because I have like 7000 pins across 80 boards plus at least half as many likes.  I know I have a problem.

These were made to coordinate with Cathryn's Baby Quilt and her matching Personalized Baby Nursery Bunting to be put on display at the baby shower.

I used the hair bows as flowers and attached them to skewers that were wrapped in ribbon and stuck into styrofoam discs placed in little buckets.  I used curling ribbon bows as grass to hide the styrofoam discs.  I love the way they turned out!

Neighbor Christmas Goodie Boxes

We've been crazy busy and sick and tired.  I haven't been keeping up with my blogging obligations but I'm hoping to be back on track shortly.  Miss me?  HAHA!

I made Neighbor Christmas Goodie Boxes this year.  I bought festive, green ziploc storage containers and filled them with:
Chocolate Chip Cookies

Chocolate Pretzel Bites
Chocolate Chip Cookie Cups

Turtle Pretzel Bites

I tied a festive bow with festive ribbon to make it all festive looking.  I don't have individual pictures of my bow tying so stay with me...
1.  I cut a long, long piece of ribbon.  I used the wire edged ribbon to be able to shape the bows easily.
2.  I folded it in half so that I knew where the center point was.
3.  I placed the center point in the center of the container (shorter side) and wrapped the ribbon to the underneath and criss-crossed the ribbon on the underside and brought the ribbon up either side of the longer side of the container and tied a knot.
4.  I then tied a bow leaving extra long ribbon ends.
5.  I tied another bow on top of the first leaving longer ribbon ends.
6.  I tied one more bow (3 total) and trimmed the ribbon ends.

Hope you followed me.  I didn't take pictures as I was in a hurry and kind of winged it.  I was pleased with their results, that is why I decided to share.

Fall Ribbon Wreath - Revisited

I had to re-post my Fall Ribbon Wreath that I made last year.  I love it.  Check out the tutorial here.

Valentine's Ribbon Wreath

I'm obsessed with ribbon!  How many more ribbon wreaths can I make?  Well, how many holidays do I have left?  =)

The best part?  This was Christmas ribbon at 75% off!  Looks like Valentine's to me!  The whole wreath only cost me $10!

Materials
A large variety of ribbon spools (I used 2 wide, 2 medium width and 7 small width spools.)
Heart of round wire wreath form
Scissors
Fray Check (If you are using ribbon that tend to fray.  Check out my Keep Fraying at Bay post.)

How I Did It
1.  Starting with the widest ribbons first, cut ribbon approximately 18-24 inches in length and tie bows around the wreath form spacing the bows equally.  The bows do not need to be perfect.

2.  I continued with medium width ribbon.  This ribbon did not have to be as long as the widest ribbon, approximately 18 inches long.

3.  I continued with the thinnest ribbon.  I cut the polka dot ribbon at 16 inches and tied bows with it to the wreath form.  I cut the solid pink ribbon at 12 inches and just tied those to the wreath form by just tying knots and letting the ends hang.

Christmas Ribbon Wreath

I liked my Fall Ribbon Wreath so much that I needed to make one for Christmas.  (I'll probably be making similar ones for all holidays, be warned!)  I just love ribbon!

Materials
Floral Hoop/Form
Assorted Ribbon, different widths
Dritz Fray Check

The How To
1.  Cut ribbon into strips.  The wider the ribbon, the longer the length.
I cut my widest at 18-24 inches and the thinnest 12-16 inches.

2.  Use some Dritz Fray Check to keep ribbon from fraying.

3.  Starting with the widest ribbon, tie bows around the floral form equally spaced.  The bows need'ent be pretty...

4.  Continue with the next color...

5.  And the next...

6.  Keep filling it in...

7.  Once you get down to the thinner ribbon, tie knots instead of bows.  One of the thin ribbons that I chose was wired.  I curled it around a marker for extra character.

Here she is...

Love it!
