Big Brother Bag

This was a gift I made for Reid's big brother, Avery.  I kept with the nautical theme, I bought a canvas bag and decided to make a stencil using my Silhouette and paint a design especially for the new big brother.

How I Did It:
1.  I bought an anchor design on the Silhouette online store and designed a stencil using Silhouette Studio.

2.  I cut out my design using my Silhouette on vinyl.

3.  I placed the design on the bag and positioned it where I wanted it.  I did not use transfer paper for this process as there were no small intricate cuts that transfer paper is very useful for.

4.  I used a sponge brush to dab fabric paint over my stencil.

5.  I carefully peeled away the vinyl and used a hook instrument to remove the smaller pieces.  I did this while it was still wet but you could wait until it is dry as well.

Warriors Cheerleader Gear

Silhouette Projects?  Why, absolutely!  I'm in! Kelly (friend and fellow Silhouette fan) was in need of some cheerleader gear for her daughter's upcoming competition.  I busted out the ol' Silhouette to come to the rescue.  [She has since ordered a new Cameo!  I can't wait for her to share her projects with me.]

We made two different style tees using vinyl and fabric paint.  Check out a tutorial here

We, also, decorated a couple megaphones using vinyl and transfer tape.  Check out a tutorial here

St. Pat's Beer Tee

Another St. Pat's Tee...  (I even have more last one for tomorrow!)  Everyone need a St. Pat's Tee, or two.  =)  I did not have any luck finding green t-shirts this year (maybe because I looked too late?) so I dyed my own.  I have never dyed anything before.  It was quite easy.  I used a 5 gallon bucket and it cleaned out nicely with no green residue.  It didn't create the mess that I thought it would.  I did have trouble with a 'dark green' that I bought, it looked like it had too much blue in it, so I re-dyed it.  I'm just thinking that the color on the box isn't always exactly what you are going to get...

Our Fav Leprechaun

Adorable Leprechaun hat?   - GarysAngel Etsy Shop

Adorable Onesie?  See below...

Materials
Silhouette Heat Transfer - Smooth
Onesie
Fabric Dye
Iron

How I Did It
1.  I dyed a onesie using Rit fabric dye according the the package instructions.  (very easy process)

2.  I designed the lettering for the onesie using Silhouette Studio and made use to mirror the design so that it was 'backwards' for ironing on.

3.  I cut it out on Silhouette Heat Transfer (smooth) with the clear plastic side down and no cutting mat.

This is the clear plastic side up after being cut out.
4.  I removed the negative heat transfer to leave the lettering...

This is the side that was cut with clear plastic side down.
5.  I placed the design on the onesie, clear plastic side up.

6.  I placed a piece of fabric on top of the clear plastic and ironed, applying firm pressure for 45 - 60 seconds (according to Silhouette Heat Transfer package instructions).  If the plastics doesn't peel up, try, try again...

 7.  I peeled the clear plastic away from the design and re-ironed (on top of fabric) one more time for good measure.

and this is why you should... Never Wake A Sleeping Leprechaun...
