Valentine Bathroom Decor 2013
I do not hide the fact that I love my Silhouette. I especially love cutting vinyl for lots of different projects. I designed these Conversation Hearts with Silhouette Studio. You heard it, I designed it myself, this isn't a purchased design. It's the first time that I designed something that wasn't just words... It took a bit but it was worth it.

Wine Bottle Vase with Conversation Hearts as Filler
Do the Paper Heart Roses look familiar?? Well, that because I posted them yesterday!
Check out that post HERE.
I needed a vase to put them in so I grabbed a wine bottle (empty) and filled it with some conversation hearts and stuck my paper heart roses in it.

Paper Heart Roses
What Valentine's Day wouldn't be complete without some roses, right? I was searching for some V-day projects and came across this incredibly cute idea...
How I Did It...
1. I punched out lots of hearts out of Valentine cardstock. (I used 4 hearts per rose.)
2. I cut stems from the straight part of wire hangers.
3. I used scotch tape to wrap the paper hearts, one by one onto the stem. (I first, unsuccessfully tried to use floral wire.)
4. I wrapped each flower with flower tape from the last 1/2 inch of the flower and along the entire length of the stem.

Candy filled Brown Paper Hearts perfect for Valentines!
I made these cute little m&m filled heart sacks that I cut from paper bags. (Lunch sized ones are thinner and crinkle better...) I'm thinking of making them for Steel's classmates as Valentines. They are simple enough. If you are going to attempt them yourself, sew the two hearts together first leaving a 1 1/2 - 2 inch opening to stuff in the treats, then sew closed.
I think I like this sewing paper thing lately... (Must clean sewing machine...)

Valentine Felt Heart Garland
Well, it didn't turn out as I expected. It's not terrible. I definitely needed stiffer and thicker felt but I used what I had on hand and had no plans of buying any. I should have took a couple pointers from my inspiration listed below but I had my own ideas...=) Since my felt was so thin, when I tried to hang it, it flattened out the tops of the hearts, that's why I hung it the way that I did to try and make the best of it.
How I Did It...
I cut 20 strips of felt 1 x 5 inches...
I folded each of them in half and stitched along the fold...
I connected the hearts before I stitched each of the hearts closed. I did this by stitching them together from what will end up being the inside of each of the hearts at approximately 1/3 of the distance from the first stitching.
I attached ribbon hooks to the 2 outside hearts...
Finally, I stitched each of the hearts closed...

Math Pack App
This is one of the educational apps that I installed on Steel's tablet. We played it last week and we both had a lot of fun. It's for grades K-9 so there's something for all ages!
